Tree-of-thought (ToT) extends CoT by exploring multiple branches. The model proposes several intermediate steps, evaluates them, and chooses the best path. ToT enables exploring solution spaces. ToT is more computationally expensive than CoT. ToT works well for complex problems. ToT is used in advanced reasoning systems. ToT research is active.
